The Sunday Review #27: About Free eBooks, Financial Gurus, and Plagiarism

by golbguru on July 1, 2007

Here is this Sunday’s list of interesting money articles for you.

  • Want to be a Guru? Start Insulting People! by Jim @ Blueprint for Financial Prosperity. Have you noticed financial gurus talk rude to people who approach them for advice? Jim noticed it and makes a sharp remark about the attitude in his post. For some reason (in my opinion) people encourage gurus/bloggers who use such strong-worded “advice”. Probably they (the people who watch and encourage) get some wicked pleasure out of it. Stuff like “he is stupid”, “you are an idiot”, “they are morons”, “I hate…” attract a lot of followers. And it’s not just about financial people - *cough* American Idol *cough*.
  • Bad, Bad China by Andrea Dickson @ WiseBread. People are having trouble with Chinese products and the list is growing by the day - catfish, toothpaste, fever medicine, pickles, crackers, tires, toys, tomato paste … and probably many more not yet noticed.
  • What to Do with Plagiarization? by Sun @ The Sun’s Financial Diary. Someone is stealing Sun’s content and posting it as his/her own. That’s bad blogger behavior. Some new bloggers who may be tempted to do something like this - beware, people are watching you. Recently, some of my fellow bloggers have discovered a whole bunch of little-known websites stealing content (posting word-to-word copies) from some reputable financial websites - that’s calling for a lot of trouble down the line.

Golbguru,

Great Sunday review again. I guess My Wealth Builder will never be recognized as a “financial guru.” :-)
